CURTAINS

SINGLE PLEAT
A simple modern heading for curtains. With clean lines it suits plain and patterned fabric alike.

WAVE
A modern heading rapidly gaining in popularity. Sometimes called a ripple heading, this unfussy style is an excellent way to display plain and patterned fabrics with even symmetry. Invented by Silent Gliss, it is not suitable for ringed poles it requires a specific track adapted for the even regularity of the folds of which most track companies supply. Its modern evolution goes hand in hand with motorisation.

DOUBLE PLEAT
Sometimes called pinch or French pleat. Similar to a single pleat but pinched into two folds this is a traditional heading which offers more fabric volume.

TRIPLE PLEAT
This is the same as the double pleat but pinched into three folds in the pleat. This heading offers maximum fabric volume.

PENCIL PLEAT
This is a moderately traditional heading that many people may recognise from their childhoods. This style is having a resurgence in the designer interior realm due to its relaxed nonchalance. It is flexible, lending itself well to a lesser or greater availability of fabric volume.

UNLINED AND SHEER
Here the curtain has one layer of fabric without lining. This is a good option for privacy where light availability is still required.

LINED
This is where there is a layer of fabric behind the curtain. This is a good option when the reverse of the fabric is unsightly and it also offers your selected fabric protection from sun damage. Blackout lining is best for bedrooms and where light restriction is essential and a self-lined option is possible where there curtain will be equally viable on both sides such as in a room divider.

LINED AND INTERLINED
Lined and interlined curtains are a particularly high end product and are often referred to as heavy drapes. This is where an extra layer of this wadded fabric is added between the main fabric and the lining. It fills out the curtain fabric giving it a voluptuous quality. It is particularly recommended in areas where draft exclusion is required such as in door curtains or room dividers.
